GEOS (MALTA) ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTRE

GEOS (Malta) English Language Centre prides itself on its top quality General English and ESP courses and its commitment to provide all the necessary student support services, such as host families, counselling and varied activities programmes. Our students come from about 50 countries from all corners of the globe creating a unique and very enjoyable international atmosphere.

Our open “secret” is, however, the importance we give to our human resources, notably our teachers. All teachers at GEOS not only have to be fully qualified but in possession of the skills needed to expose our clients to an English language that is easy to assimilate and use. Activities include on-site lessons at places of interest with prepared students acting as guides, speaking exercises involving students doing vox-pops or surveys with the very friendly locals, and the publication of a students’ newspaper for which the students have to do all the practical research, interviews and editing. In return the school offers free internet and computer lab services. Students love it here and some keep on coming back.

GEOS is situated in the very heart of Sliema, Malta’s commercial hub. The elegant shopping centre is dotted by open-air cafes and lined by kilometres of promenade and a long sandstone beach. Students can sunbathe or swim literally within minutes of leaving class from May to early November.

A ten-minute ferry from Sliema takes you across the crystal blue port to the unique 16th century walled city and Malta’s capital, Valletta. Perched between the world’s largest and deepest natural harbours, Valletta, with its straight grid-like streets is the first planned city in the world, full of treasures of art, history and vernacular life since the magical days of the Knights of Malta. Valletta is both a UNESCO “World Heritage City” and a Council of Europe “Cultural European Capital.”

A ten-minute bus ride in the opposite direction takes you from Sliema to Paceville, Malta’s nightlife mecca featuring some of the biggest discos in the Mediterranean, state-of-the art cinemas, Europe’s biggest IMAX screen, bowling, ice-skating, restaurants and so much more to keep the young and young at heart up till the small hours of the morning.
